Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Indian market, outlining its growth roadmap through 2030 with India positioned as one of Honda's top three priority markets globally. The company announced plans to introduce new products in the sub-4-meter SUV and mid-size SUV segments from 2028 onwards and launch its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in the second half of FY2026–27. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said Tamil Nadu contributes around 12% of the company's domestic sales and remains a key market, adding that Honda expects the newly launched New Honda City to further strengthen its presence in the state.
Honda also showcased the New Honda City, featuring a refreshed sporty design, premium interiors, Honda SENSING ADAS, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and the choice of a 1.5L i-VTEC Petrol engine or Honda's Self-charging Two Motor Strong Hybrid e powertrain. The New Honda City is priced from ₹11.99 lakh to ₹20.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai) and comes with an extensive warranty package, including coverage for the hybrid battery and system.
The company further introduced the All-New Honda ZR-V, its new global premium hybrid SUV making its India debut. Powered by a 2.0L Sports Hybrid system producing 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque, the SUV offers premium features including a Bose® Premium Surround Sound System, dual-zone climate control, Honda SENSING ADAS, 8 airbags, and a 360-degree camera. Imported from Japan as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), the All-New Honda ZR-V is now open for pre-bookings across Honda dealerships in India, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in July 2026.
