Lady Doak College celebrated Triune’26, commemorating the College Birthday, Founder's Day, and the Inauguration of the Student Cabinet, on Thursday at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by the Centre for Music, followed by the invocation by Dr. Priyadharshini Rajendran, Chaplain, followed by Tamilthai Vazhthu. Dr. S. Arockia Shyamala Paniyarasi, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the gathering.
The ceremonial lamp was lit by the Chief Guest, P. Ponniah, IAS, Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, along with Dr. V. Kalaiselvi, Regional Joint Director of Collegiate Education, Madurai Region; Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary; Dr. R. Nimma Elizabeth, Vice Principal; Dr. P. Vanitha Malarvizhi, Bursar C. Theraya, the President of the Student Cabinet.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary, reflected on the institution's 78-year legacy of excellence and presented the Founder's Day video - A Chronicle Etched in Time, highlighting the vision and values of the founder Ms. Katie Wilcox.
Delivering the inaugural address, Thiru. P. Ponniah, IAS, underscored that true leadership is founded on service, responsibility, and integrity. He emphasized the transformative role of higher education in nurturing knowledge, creativity, ethical values, and social responsibility among students.
The key highlight of the event was the installation of the newly elected Student Cabinet for the academic year 2026–2027 by the Principal, marking the beginning of a new phase of student leadership and service. A book titled, Communities as Classrooms: A Guide to Service-Learning in Higher Education, authored by Dr. A. S. Priscilla, Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. G. Jayanthi Kalaivani, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, and Dr. M. Keerthana Assistant Professor, Department of English, reflecting the institution's commitment to experiential learning and community engagement was released.
The celebration concluded with the rendering of the College Song and the National Anthem, reaffirming Lady Doak College's enduring commitment to academic excellence, value-based education, leadership development, and community engagement. The programme was organized by Dr. S. Arockia Shyamala Paniyarasi and Dr. C. Esther Elizabeth Grace, Deans of Student Affairs, and Assistant Deans of Student Affairs Dr. J. Jullie Prathiba and Ms. G. Koperundevi along with the Student Cabinet.
