The Departments of Commerce with Computer Applications and Commerce with Information Technology (Self-Financing) of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, jointly organised "Mindspark 2K26" on July 15, 2026, to mark World Youth Skills Day. The event was conducted for Class XII school students to promote skill development and career readiness.
The programme was held in the presence of College Chairman M. Vijayaraghavan, Secretary Er. S. R. Sridhar, Principal Dr. A. Ramasubbaiah, and Self-Financing Wing Director C. Prabhu.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. A. Ramasubbaiah emphasised that students should develop essential skills such as vocational competence, computer proficiency, communication skills and problem-solving abilities alongside academic learning. He said that the talents and skills of today's youth would form the foundation of India's future growth and development.
As part of the event, quiz and word association competitions were conducted for Class XII students. Around 230 students from 12 schools across Madurai enthusiastically participated in the competitions, and winners were honoured with prizes.
Earlier, Ms. K. R. Akshaya delivered the welcome address, while Ms. S. Sujithabala proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme was organised by A. Nagaswathi, Head of the Department of Commerce with Computer Applications and Head of the Department of Commerce with Information Technology, with the objective of encouraging students to strengthen their skills and prepare for higher education and future careers.
