Tamil Nadu Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan distributed puja kits to 109 one-time puja temples under the Gobichettipalayam (including Gobi and Nambiyur) division at the Amman Marriage Hall in Pariyur, Gobichettipalayam, under the initiative of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.
Speaking at the event, the Minister said that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has been implementing several welfare initiatives to ensure that government schemes reach people from all sections of society. As part of these efforts, the HR&CE Department has been supplying essential puja materials to 582 one-time puja temples across Erode district to ensure that daily worship is conducted regularly.
He stated that the Tamil Nadu Government continues to give priority to the development and maintenance of temples while taking various measures to ensure uninterrupted daily worship and to meet the needs of temple priests and archakas.
As part of the programme, each of the 109 temples in the Gobichettipalayam division received a puja kit worth ₹5,800, comprising seven essential brass items required for temple rituals: Kamatchi lamp, Incense stand, Panchapatra, Puja plate, Holy water vessel, Brass tray, Bell
The Minister personally handed over the puja kits to temple priests and archakas during the function.
The event was attended by Pariyur Arulmigu Kondathu Kaliamman Temple Executive Officer Anita, Tahsildar Kaviyarasu, Range Inspectors Palanisamy and other officials, temple administrators, committee members, and officials from the HR&CE Department.
