The SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter for the Erode region has been functioning at Nandha Engineering College, Erode, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
During the January-April 2026 semester, more than 2,300 students and faculty members enrolled in various online courses offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) through the SWAYAM-NPTEL platform. In the final examinations, participants delivered an outstanding performance, securing 27 Topper (Elite) ranks, 242 Gold certifications, and 357 Silver certifications under the NPTEL grading system. Overall, 1,752 students and faculty members successfully completed the courses with high scores.
In recognition of providing an excellent learning environment and effectively managing the SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter for the Erode region, Nandha Engineering College was awarded the prestigious "AA" certification at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Ministry of Education at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras campus.
The college also achieved a significant milestone by securing the 88th position among the top 200 institutions out of more than 8,740 SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapters operating across India. V. Shanmugan, Chairman of Sri Nandha Educational Trust, congratulated Dr. U.S. Raghupathy, Principal of Nandha Engineering College, and Dr. E.K. Mohanraj, Dean and SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter Coordinator, for their contribution to this achievement.
It is noteworthy that IIT Madras, which had awarded the college an "A" certification for the previous four consecutive semesters, upgraded the institution to the prestigious "AA" certification in the fifth semester in recognition of its continued excellence.
Members of Sri Nandha Educational Trust, including Mrs. Bhanumathi Shanmugan, Joint Managing Trustees S. Nandakumar Pradeep and S. Thirumoorthy, along with A.K. Velusamy, Administrative Officer of Nandha Technology Campus, congratulated the faculty members and students whose efforts contributed to securing the "AA" certification.
