The inauguration of the newly constructed Arutselvar Hall and the awards ceremony were held at Kumaraguru Agricultural College, located in Sakthinagar, Appakudal, Erode District. The event was graced by the presence of K. Sengottaiyan, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Government of Tamil Nadu, who attended as the chief guest.
The ceremony was presided over by Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman of Kumaraguru Institutions. Dr. M. Manickam, Chairman and Managing Director of Sakthi Sugars Limited, delivered the felicitation address. The event witnessed the participation of M. Balasubramaniam, Trustee of Kumaraguru Institutions, officials of Sakthi Group, faculty members, students, and more than 250 farmers.
Achievements of Kumaraguru Agricultural College
- Established in 2014 as an affiliated institution of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.
- Spread across 133 acres, with five specialized departments and over 43 faculty members.
- Produced more than 700 graduates to date.
- Operates a Pre-incubation Centre to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
- Undertakes national and international research projects with external funding.
- Provides training programs for farmers in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Agriculture Department.
The newly inaugurated hall covers 26,000 square feet with a seating capacity of 700. Equipped with modern technological facilities, it is designed as a multi-purpose venue for academic and research programs, farmer workshops, industrial discussions, graduation ceremonies, award functions, cultural events, indoor sports competitions, and examinations.

These awards were presented to individuals who made outstanding contributions to the agricultural sector. In addition, nine sugarcane farmers who achieved high yields were honored with prizes.
This event marked a significant milestone in integrating education, research, agriculture, industry, and community service, positioning Kumaraguru Agricultural College as a hub of innovation and rural empowerment.
