Central Bureau of Communication, Chennai under the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organizing a 2-day ICOP Exhibition on Government welfare scheme in K.G. Thirumana Arangam, Mannargudi, Tiruvarur District on 30 and 31.07.2026.
District Collector Mohanachandran inaugurated the exhibition by lighting a traditional lamp and addressed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector noted the shift from the past—when the public had to submit petitions and seek out officials to voice grievances—to the current scenario where officials conduct camps to meet the public directly and hear their concerns. He also highlighted that citizens can now obtain certificates immediately without having to wait. Subsequently, he distributed prizes to students who had won various competitions.
Sakthivel, Field Publicity Officer, Central Bureau of Communication, Puducherry delivered keynote address. Kalimuthu, Deputy Superintendent of Post Offices, Thanjavur Division, spoke about the various schemes implementing by the postal department including Suganya Samriddhi Yojana. Ranganatha Prabhu, Lead Bank Manager, Tiruvarur detailed about Mudra schemes, PMJDY, PMJJBY and PMSBY. Shyamala Devi, District Social Welfare Officer Tiruvarur delivering various marriage assistance schemes implementing by the social welfare department to women and help line number to students and women. Shyamala, District Programme Officer, ICDS, Tiruvarur explained the various services provided by the Anganvadi center to Children, adolescent girls and Lactating mothers.
Earlier, Ravindran, Technical Assistant, Central Bureau of Communication, Thanjavur delivered the welcome address. Arunkumar Field Publicity Assistant, Trichy proposed the vote of thanks.
The District Collector inspected the exhibition stalls set up by various government departments including Postal, Adhaar, Common service center, Social welfare department and ICDS.
