An awareness workshop on “Microgreens and Business Opportunities” was organised by the Department of Business Administration at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College.
College Principal Dr. Ramasubbiah presided over the programme. College President Vijayaraghavan, Secretary Engineer Sridhar, and Treasurer Alwarsamy were present as special guests.
Dr. Hemalatha Rajaram, Founder of Sivasankari Vitta Health Private Limited, Chennai, participated as the chief guest. She explained various aspects of microgreens, associated cultivation methods, their nutritional benefits, opportunities for small and micro entrepreneurship, and potential employment opportunities in the field.
A total of 107 participants, including homemakers, women’s self-help group members, and small-scale entrepreneurs, participated in the workshop and benefited from the training.
Earlier, Dr. Sakthivel, Head of the Department of Business Administration, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Meenakshi Devi, Secretary of the Organising Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Niranjani coordinated the event.
