A discussion regarding the ITME 2026 International Textile Machinery Exhibition, set to feature participation from 95 countries, was held in Madurai. The event was attended by Jegatheesan (President, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Senthilkumar (President, MADITSSIA), and numerous representatives from industrial firms and the textile sector across Madurai and neighboring towns. Many office-bearers from textile industry associations also participated, and an invitation was extended to all to attend the international exhibition.
The India International Textile Machinery Exhibition (ITME) is scheduled to take place in Noida from December 4 to 9, showcasing the latest technological advancements and modern machinery in the textile sector. With representatives from 95 countries and over 1,800 exhibitors participating, the event will display a wide range of modern technologies and machinery—spanning the entire value chain from yarn production, weaving, and fabric manufacturing to garment production. Furthermore, the exhibition will highlight innovations in automation, artificial intelligence, digitalization, environmental sustainability, and technologies designed to boost productivity.
Speaking at a press conference in Madurai regarding the event, Exhibition Treasurer Senthil Kumar stated that the expo would showcase state-of-the-art innovations and new technologies for the entire textile sector—ranging from fibers, yarns, and fabrics to finished garments and technical textiles. This marks the 12th edition of the exhibition organized by the India ITME Society. It is set to be a massive event, spanning approximately 240,000 square meters across 18 halls—a scale unprecedented in the exhibition's history.
Over 150,000 visitors are expected to attend the event. This event is set to be a massive global exhibition for the textile machinery and engineering sector. It aligns with key Indian initiatives such as 'Make in India', 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India), 'PM MITRA Parks', and the 'National Technical Textiles Mission'. It highlights India's evolution from a mere garment-producing nation into a global leader in textile engineering, innovation, and technology-driven manufacturing. It was noted that technological advancements are creating new employment opportunities within the textile sector and driving a growing demand for a workforce skilled in handling modern technologies.
Officials stated that India's global trade in the textile sector continues to improve and that the adoption of new technologies can further boost productivity, quality, and exports. The exhibition will serve as a vital platform for Indian companies to explore global textile technologies and unlock new business opportunities in the international market.
