Srivilliputhur, Kalasalingam University celebrated 39th Convocation Ceremony, conferring degrees on 4835 students across various disciplines.
The event was presided by Pro Chancellor Dr. S. Arivalagi Sridharan.
The Vice President Dr. S. Shasi Anand declared open the convocation.
Vice President Er. S. Arjun Kalasalingam, Vice Chancellor Dr. S. Narayanan, the Registrar Dr. V. Vasudevan and university Executive Council UGC Nominee and Dean,Vellore Thiruvalluvar University,Dr. P. Kathiresan are present in the function.
The Vice Chancellor submitted the Annual Report.
The degrees, Medals and certificate were presented to the 145 Rank holders by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Venu Gopal Achanta, Director, CSIR, Under Ministry of S&T, Govt. Of India.
In his Convocation address, The Chief guest advised the students " to develope multi skills in other branches also which enables to do research and innovation "
"Indian youth are 35% of the global strength and hence participation in development will enhance the global economic growth" the chief guest added.
The Guest of honours Mohanbabu Balachandran, Technology Head and Vice President, Rocket India and Dhinakar Selwyn, Vice President and Global Head, FS Core Technologies, Capgemini addressed and presented the degrees.
The total degrees awarded included : 3785 UG students from Engineering, Architecture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Law, Nursing, Allied health Sciences and Arts and Sciences, 390 PG students, 107 Ph. D. Scholars and 653 from CDOE (Centre of Distance and Online Education).
The Ceremony concluded with the students taking an Oath, pledging to use their knowledge for the betterment of the Society.
Parents, Faculty, Directors, Deans and Heads Of Departments were present in the function.
The Convocation Committee Staffs organised the function Excellent.
