PSNA College of Engineering in Dindigul, Japan-based H2 Innovations Co., Ltd. and Chennai-based K-KCCS India Private Limited have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research in green hydrogen and sustainable energy technologies.
The MoU will be implemented through the Centre for Green Energy Research and Sustainable Technologies (CGERST) functioning at PSNA College.
Under the agreement, research will be undertaken in areas including green hydrogen production, fuel cell technology, hydrogen storage and utilisation, hydrogen production from RO water and seawater, renewable energy integration, energy storage, waste-to-energy technologies, laboratory development, prototype development and collaborative research.
Prior to the signing of the MoU, two professors and two students from PSNA College had visited Japan, where they gained practical exposure by visiting plants and laboratories related to green hydrogen, waste-to-energy, fuel cells and sustainable energy technologies.
The MoU was signed by PSNA College Vice-President Rtn. R.S.K. Raghuram, Yosuke Mori, Chief Executive Officer of H2 Innovations, Japan, and K. Karunanidhi, Managing Director of K-KCCS India. K-KCCS India will serve as the coordinator, while Dr. B. Venkatesan will act as the technical consultant.
Faculty members and students from various departments, including EEE, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, Biomedical, CSE, IT, Physics and Chemistry, will participate in collaborative research, funded projects, laboratory development, student projects, research paper publications, technical training, industry interaction and international collaboration through CGERST.
The PSNA College management said the agreement would serve as a significant milestone in green hydrogen research, technological innovation and India-Japan academic collaboration.
PSNA College Principal Vasudevan, Administrative Chairman Rajasekaran, Guinness World Record holder Coimbatore Lakshminarayanan, professors and students were among those present at the event.
