The cricket team of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai, emerged as champions in the Chief Minister’s Trophy cricket tournament held at Cholamalai Engineering College on September 15 and 16, 2026.
A total of 26 teams participated in the tournament. In the closely contested final, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College defeated the team from Thiagarajar College of Arts and Science by 15 runs to lift the championship trophy.
The college congratulated the student players who brought laurels to the institution and Physical Education Director Dr. Raghavan, who guided the team effectively.
College Chairman Vijayaraghavan, Secretary Engineer Sridhar, Principal Dr. Ramasubbiah and Director of the Self-Financing Section Prabhu congratulated the team, stating that the students’ dedication, excellent teamwork and sporting spirit were key factors behind the victory.
