As part of the national Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative, the National Institute of Technology Puducherry (NIT Puducherry) organised a comprehensive awareness programme under the theme “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” at its campus on September 20, 2026. The initiative aimed to educate the youth on the harmful effects of substance abuse while fostering a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.
The event featured a series of student-centric activities, including an Anti-Drug Awareness Pledge, a Signature Campaign, and an interactive keynote address. Guest speakers emphasized the importance of abstaining from narcotics, encouraging the youth to channel their potential towards nation-building and achieving a developed India.
Around 25 students from NIT Puducherry actively participated in the drive, reaffirming their personal commitment to remain drug-free and pledging to spread awareness across their peer networks and local communities. The programme concluded with a strong message highlighting that a healthy, drug-free youth population serves as the foundational bedrock for a prosperous and self-reliant nation.
