VBJ (Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers), one of India's most trusted heritage jewellery brands, has expanded its retail presence into Coimbatore with the inauguration of its largest showroom in Tamil Nadu. Located on 100 Feet Road, the 21,000 sq. ft. showroom is spread across three floors and marks an important milestone in the company's expansion beyond Chennai into key jewellery markets across Tamil Nadu.
With a rich legacy spanning 126 years, VBJ brings together in-house design, manufacturing and retail operations to create and showcase distinctive jewellery collections. Over the last five years, the brand has introduced 15 unique and popular collections, including Peacock, Floral and Parrot, reflecting its creativity, craftsmanship and commitment to preserving traditional artistry.
The new showroom has been designed across three floors, with each floor dedicated to a specific jewellery category. The ground floor houses gold, precious stone and Jadau jewellery, while the first floor features diamond, solitaire and platinum collections.
For the first time in Coimbatore, customers can explore VBJ's premium diamond collections featuring certification from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), bringing internationally recognised diamond certification to the city.
The silverware and silver jewellery section, along with Atelier by VBJ, the brand's exclusive luxury jewellery offering, will be opened shortly. Designed to provide an elevated luxury shopping experience, this section will feature private viewing lounges, personalised services and carefully curated jewellery collections that highlight exceptional craftsmanship and exclusivity.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amarendran Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, said: “Coimbatore is an important market for VBJ, considering its strong business community and established customer base. Our largest showroom in Tamil Nadu reflects our confidence in the city's growth potential and its appreciation for fine jewellery. We wanted to create a destination where customers can experience the wide range of VBJ collections, particularly contemporary bridal jewellery and diamonds, while continuing to uphold the trust and craftsmanship associated with our 126-year legacy.”
VBJ is entering a new phase of growth, with plans to expand its presence across key markets in Tamil Nadu and Telangana, including Tiruchirappalli and Hyderabad. The company also plans to strengthen its presence in important Chennai markets such as T. Nagar and Chromepet.
The brand is further expanding its operations in the United States. Building on its existing presence in Texas, VBJ plans to enter Milpitas, California, to serve the growing Indian diaspora. Through these expansion initiatives, the company aims to strengthen its retail network and achieve its targeted revenue milestone of over ₹5,000 crore by FY 2027–28.
Mr. Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, added: “Our Coimbatore showroom has been designed to reflect the evolving expectations of today's jewellery customers. The scale of the showroom allows us to bring together a much wider range of collections, while our in-house design capabilities enable us to continuously introduce new and distinctive designs. With GIA-certified diamonds and an extensive bridal jewellery portfolio, we believe this showroom will become an important destination for customers seeking both craftsmanship and choice.”
As part of the inauguration and festive celebrations, VBJ has announced special offers for customers. These include 20% off on making charges and value addition (VA) for gold, diamond, platinum and precious stone jewellery, as well as silverware. Customers can also avail 10% off on silver jewellery. Additionally, customers exchanging old gold will receive an extra ₹125 per gram.
As a fifth-generation family-run jewellery business, VBJ takes pride in its association with the historic Sengol (sceptre), a significant symbol of India's democratic journey. The Sengol was rediscovered after 72 years through extensive research undertaken by the VBJ team and was subsequently installed beside the Speaker's chair in India's new Parliament building, Sansad Bhavan.
Continuing its commitment to preserving India's cultural heritage through exceptional craftsmanship, VBJ also created an extraordinary tribute to the Shree Ramcharitmanas, which is housed within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
Founded in 1900, VBJ continues to build on its 126-year legacy of trust, creativity and craftsmanship while expanding its presence across new markets. The inauguration of its largest showroom in Coimbatore marks another significant milestone in the company's journey as it moves forward with its ambitious retail expansion plans.
