Meenakshi College of Nursing in Kottakudi, Madurai, is an educational unit of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre is one of the pioneer institutes that offer B.Sc Nursing since 2017 and looks forward to excellence in education and health care services globally. The college has organized a State Level Conference on Clinical Toxicology for Nurses, for the first time in Tamil Nadu. The conference primarily focuses on the theme "Track down the Toxins" and the objective of the conference is to provide knowledge to enhance the future Nurse Practitioner to deliver Comprehensive Patient Care in clinical toxicology. Around 300 delegates from in and around Madurai participated in this conference.
As the conference is the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu, Dr B Sneha Priya IPS Superintendent of Police, Civil Supplies CID, South Zone, Madurai and Prof.Dr.A.Rathinavel, Dean of Govt Rajaji and Madurai Medical College inaugurated the conference. Dr. B.Kannan Medical Administrator of Meenakshi Mission Hospital, Madurai felicitated the conference. Dr.Narendra Nath Jena, Academic Director of AHS & MCON, Director & Head - Institute of Emergency Medicine in Meenakshi Mission Hospital presided over the event. The Welcome address was given by Prof.Dr.S.Induja, the Principal of the College.
During the awarding ceremony, Service Excellence award was presented to Mrs. Suguna Losani, Nursing Superintendent of Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Dr. S. Rajamani, Principal of Madurai Medical College and Madurai College of Nursing. Leadership Excellence award was presented to Dr. Prof. Nalini Jeyavantha Santha, Principal of Madurai Sacred Heart Nursing College.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks that was delivered by Prof. P.Shanmugapriya, Head of Medical Surgical Nursing, Meenakshi College of Nursing.
