TNAU observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed on 26 June every year, to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse.  As per the guidance of Dr.V.Geethalakshmi the Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, an awareness rally is arranged in association with the Coimbatore City Police on 26.06.2023. 

Mr. Ravikumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, RS Puram (West) has coordinated the Relay Marathon for Drug free Covai involving students from different colleges at Coimbatore.  Dr.N.Maragatham, Dean, Centre for Students Welfare has waved the flag to start the NSS volunteers awareness rally from TNAU at 6:00 am.  The NSS volunteers raised the slogans related to the drug abuse and ill effects of drugs during the rally.  The relay rally reached GCT, raised awareness slogans and handed over the placards on drug abuse.  

Later, all the student volunteers gathered in PRS ground and attended the awareness programme arranged by the Coimbatore City Police. District Collector and Corporation Commissioner participated in the event. Dr. Balakrishnan, Police Commissioner & Senior Police Officials addressed the students gathering and emphasized the importance of drug free society.
