Three day photo exhibition as part of integrated Communication Outreach Programme on central government schemes, Mission Life Environment, International Year of millets was organised by Central Bureau of Communication Tiruchirapalli at Jayankondam from July 5 to 7.
On the valedictory session held on Friday FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed the gathering and coordinated the whole outreach programme,
Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirapalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his introductory address said that outreach programmes on central government schemes are being organised all over the country by Central Bureau of Communication field units. He said that the three day photo exhibition was viewed by thousands of students and public. He said that the photo exhibition which was inaugurated by Jayankondam MLA Shri Kannan and CBC Director Shri J Kamaraj has helped to create awareness about government welfare schemes. He spoke about the importance of Millets and nutritious food to strengthen self immunity. He urged students to change their food habits and give stress to traditional food like millets. He spoke about safeguarding environment through Mission life objectives like save water, save energy and avoiding plastic usage. He urged students to disseminate information on government schemes to rural public.
On the second day Rural Selfemployment Training Institute RSETI Director Shri Ravichandran addressed the students on various training courses by RSETI. Faculty from RSETI SMt Rameswari also addressed the students. Dr Mohan Ariyalur District Siddha Medical Officer addressed the students on Siddha medicines. On the valedictory session T Palur Child development project Officer Smt Sarala Devi spoke about nutritious food.
Students from various schools and colleges of Jayankondam came to see the exhibition and won prizes in competitions. Various stalls of Siddha, ICDS, Social welfare department, TB prevention postal department RSETI was set up as part of outreach programme. FPA Dharmapuri Shri Thyagarajan rendered vote of thanks on inaugural day. OSai Kalai kuzhu performed awareness programme through traditional dance and songs. On the inaugural day prizes were given to students of Jayankondam Govt Arts and Science College students who won in elocution competition on the theme of International year of Millets. School Students who won in quiz competitions based on various themes were given prizes at the programme venue.
