Integrated Communication Outreach Programme on central government welfare schemes, International Year of Millets, Mission Life Environment was organised by Central Bureau of Communication Field Office Tiruchirapalli under Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry at Idhaya College for Women Auditorium, Kumbakonam from August 8 to 12, 2023.
Mr. K Devi Padmanabhan Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirapalli in his welcome address said that the Integrated Communication Outreach Programme is being held in coordination with central and state government departments including Postal, TB eradication, Leprosy, Siddha, Social welfare department RSETI and ICDS.
Thanjavur Additional Collector Mr. Srikanth inaugurated the photo exhibition on government welfare schemes and visited the stall. In his special address he urged students to use various government schemes.
Central Bureau of Communication Tamil Nadu Puducherry Director Mr. J Kamaraj in his presidential address urged students to read books to increase their knowledge. He asked them to get information about various government schemes and utilise it for their benefit.
Dr Eugin Amala Principal in her special address urged students to utilise the information provided in the programme. Nehru Yuva Kendra Thanjavur Deputy Director Mr. Tiruneelakantan, Thanjavur District Siddha Medical Officer Dr Gunasekaran, Rural Self employment Training Institute Director Ms. Alamalu addressed the gathering. Mr. K Ravindran Field Publicity Assistant Thanjavur coordinated the event. Mr. M Jayaganesh Field Publicity Assistant Vellore rendered vote of thanks.
In the ICOP, pamphlets on central government schemes were released. As part of avoiding usage of one time use plastics, cloth bags were distributed. Prizes were given to students who won in competition on Millets and environment safeguard. Song and Drama registered troupe Bharatmatha kalai Kuzhu Thanjavur performed awareness programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Millets and environment safety.
