The 75th Republic Day of the country was celebrated in a grand manner at Annai Fathima Arts and Science College, Thirumangalam, Madurai.
Dr. Abdul Kadir Principal of the college in his Republic Day address after hoisting the national flag advised the students to realize the significance of Republic Day and Independence Day and remember martyrs like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who fought for India's freedom and asked the students to respectfully remember Dr. Ambedkar who drafted the Constitution of India.
Further, he said that we celebrate 26th January every year as the Republic Day on which the Constitution of India came into force and the students should take a pledge to uphold the principles of equality, fraternity, secularism and protect the rights given by the Constitution.
Mr. Balraj, Head of Hotel Management Department, Professors Arun, Nivedita Manokaran, Jinju Maryam Emanuel, Vineeshma, Jayashree, Ganga, Office Assistants Mekala, Priyanka, Hostel wardens Prabhakar, Kalaimani and students more than 300 participated in the program. The arrangements for the function were made by Physical Education Director Narayana Prabhu, HR Assistants Arun, Sundaram, System Admin Udayakathiravan, Students Mohajjab Jamal, Abdul Mutalib, Rebin, Arif and Muttiah Pandian. Chocolates were distributed to all who attended the function.
