Central Bureau of Communication organized three day Integrated Communication Outreach Programme on central govt welfare schemes, Voter Awareness women empowerment at Thanjavur from February 29 to March 2. 

FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran in his welcome address said that the three  day ICOP was held in Arignar Anna Centenary Hall in coordination with various departments like ICDS, TB, Leprosy health departments, Agriculture, IOB RSETI social welfare and Aadhar updation camp by India Post.

FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his valedictory address said India is largest democracy in the world and to sustain democratic credentials it is our duty to vote. Election Commission is making all arrangements to conduct free and fair polls and voters should make use of the opportunity to be part of democratic process. He told students that Knowledge is power and Information is superpower and urged them to listen to news. India with 4.112 trillion dollars GDP is now fifth largest economy in the world behind the United States 27.974 trillion dollars, China 18.566 trillion dollars, Germany 4.73 trillion dollars and Japan 4.29 trillion dollars. India is aiming to be developed country by 2047. Developed country status is given by United Nation based on Human Development Index with literacy, standard of living and health care parameters. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was introduced by central govt for ensuring progress of women through educating girl children. 

Smt T Jaigeetha Ravi All India Radio newsreader in her special address spoke about importance of education in progress of women. She said that International Day of Women will be celebrated next week and nation will progress only if both men and women are treated equally and get equal opportunities to excel. She spoke about importance of news and how it will help in competitive exams. 

Shri Punitaraj All India Radio and DD Tamil newsreader in his special address spoke about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and cleanliness is next to Godliness message of Mahatma Gandhiji. He asked students to implement Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their home first. He spoke about voter awareness and importance of being part of democracy. 

FPA Tiruchirappalli Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. Prizes were distributed to students who gave feedback about the programme and various schemes. College students from Thanjavur Annai Velankanni Arts and Science College and school students from Maxwell Matriculation School, Morning Star Matriculation, Tanjore school won prizes. Tamilavel Umamaheswaranar Karanthai Arts College students saw the exhibition and participated in valedictory session.  Song and drama troupe Thanjai Nanjai Lavani Kalai Kuzhu performed to create awareness on Swachtha and govt schemes. Cloth bags were distributed as part of awareness on environment safeguard by avoiding usage of plastic. Notices and pamphlets on central govt schemes, women empowerment Naari Sakthi Vandan based on PM Mann Ki Baat  was distributed. LED vehicle was used to create awareness on voter awareness and govt schemes in crowded places like bus stand, railway station market.
