Poshan Abhiyan awareness programmes was held in various districts of Tamil Nadu on March 14 by Central Bureau of Communication. 


Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan said that the awareness programme is held by Song and Drama registered troupes under CBC Chennai. He said that the Poshan Abhiyan programme is held in coordination with Integrated Child Development Services Scheme ICDS with support from district Project Officers of ICDS Smt M Nithya in Trichy, PO ICDS Smt T Bhuvaneswari in Pudukottai, PO ICDS Smt P Visupavathi in Ramanathapuram, PO ICDS Shri Muthu Mariappan in Sivagangai, PO ICDS Smt M Anbarasi in Ariyalur districts. He pointed out that Poshan Pakhwada fortnight from March 9 to 23 is being held to create awareness on nutrition for children, and pregnant women.


In Tiruchirappalli, Bharathalaya song and drama registered troupe led by Shri Sathyan performed awareness programme in ThathyangarPettai as part of Poshan Abhiyan. CDPO Smt Sangeetha and other officials alongwith public participated. The afternoon session was held by Kalai Thamarai cultural team led by Shri Chandrasekar in Valanadu village in Vaiyampatti. CDPO Smt Shahida Rizwana and other officials addressed. 


In Pudukottai Govt Medical College Kalaimamani Ka Sathyabalan Kalai Kuzhu led by Shri Satyabalan performed. Pudukottai district ICDS Project officer Smt T Bhuvaneswari CDPO Smt Syamala, Dean and others addressed. 


In Ariyalur Hastinapuram panchayat Kalaimani Gramiya Kalaikuzhu led by Kalaimani performed. Panchayat president ShriDurai Natarajan school teachers and children participated. 


In Sivagangai Ilayangudi village Gangai Karunkuzhilgal Kalaikuzhu led by Shri S Shanmugharaju performed. CDPO Smt R Jayasudha and other officials addressed. 


In Ramanathapuram Achunthanvayal village Selvasruthi Kalaikuzhu led by Smt G Selvarani performed. ICDS officials participated. 


FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar coordinated the awareness programmes.
