Health Camp for Women by Central University of Tamil Nadu

In observance of International Women’s Day, the Health Centre at the Central University of Tamil Nadu hosted a special Health Camp for Women. The event, held on 14 March 2024 (Thursday), highlights university’s commitment to prioritizing the health and well-being of women through the provision of essential medical services and consultations.


Special camp was inaugurated by Prof. M. Krishnan, Vice Chancellor of CUTN. Renowned medical professionals, including Dr. R. Puvaneswari, Senior General Practitioner, and Dr. A.R. Nasreen Fathima, MBBS, MS (OG), extended their expertise to provide consultations to attendees. Additionally, they delivered insightful talks to doctors and staff members serving at the CUTN Health Centre. Prof. Sulochana Shekhar, Controller of Examination was special invitee to the event.


The Health Camp saw a remarkable turnout, with over 100 women from CUTN and various villages adopted by the Central University of Tamil Nadu. Participants underwent comprehensive health assessments, including measurements of height, weight, and body mass index (BMI). Additionally, essential blood tests such as haemoglobin, haematocrit, and capillary blood glucose level monitoring were conducted. Vital signs, including temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, and SpO2 levels, were meticulously monitored to ensure thorough health evaluations.


The Women's day special camp was conducted by the collaborative efforts spearheaded by Dr. K. Vishnupriya and a team of doctors including Dr. S. Prem Davis, Dr.R. Sowmi, Dr.M. Dhiliphan Raja, Dr.K. Vigneshwaran, and staff of CUTN health centre Mrs. R. Revathy, Ms.B. Mercy, Mrs.K. Kannika, Mrs.S. Vanitha, Mr. A. Velmurugan, Ms. J. Shanthi, Mrs.S. Jayanthi, Mrs. P. Chitra  who jointly organized the camp.
