ICOP Highlights RSETI Training, Welfare Schemes, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Awareness in Thanjavur

Central Bureau of Communication under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing integrated communication outreach programme at Vinoth Mahal Thanjavur from July 23 to 25. 


On the second day Rural Self employment Training Institute RSETI organized special skill training awareness  session for youth. FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed the gathering. FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his introductory speech said government is implementing various schemes for the benefit of youth. He spoke about the importance of skill training and urged youth to imbibe skill knowledge to get jobs. He pointed out that central government is implementing Skill India Start up India Standup India schemes for the benefit of youth as entrepreneurs who will be job givers instead of job seekers.


IOB Rural Self Employment Training Institute RSETI Director Smt Angayarkanni urged youth to utilize skill training to get better job opportunities. She said that RSETI is giving skill training on 33 skills like women tailoring, appalam making, embroidery, goat farming, mushroom , entrepreneur training, agarbathi. She urged students to utilise the skill training given free of cost at RSETI. She said that persons between the age of 18 and 45 years with minimum 8th pass can join the skill training. Thanjavur District Social welfare dept Mission coordinator Shri Thirumurugan spoke on various social welfare schemes. He urged youth to utilize social welfare schemes by the government. He spoke about various schemes like Pudhumai Penn scheme, and gave toll free numbers to help women, children in distress. FPA Tiruchirappalli Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. Prizes were given to those who answered correctly spot quiz based on session theme. 


As part of village awareness programme CBC Trichy and Thanjavur organized awareness programmes. In Kurungulam west village awareness programme SBM IEC Consultant Shri R Venkatraman spoke on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He urged villagers who don’t have individual household toilets to apply for government assistance under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to build toilets. FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his introductory address asked people to utilize individual household toilets and avoid open defecation to prevent spread of deadly diseases. He urged people to segregate biodegradable and nonbiodegradable wastes to safeguard and conserve nature.  Thanjavur social welfare dept Mission Coordinator Thirumurugan spoke on social welfare schemes and asked them to remember 181 toll free number for women in distress, 14567 national helpline for senior citizens, 1098 toll free number for children to get immediate help from government officials. Kurungulam panchayat president Smt Kokila, panchayat secretary and others participated in the programme. FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed and FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. 


In awareness programme held at Mathur East village,  Panchayat President Smt Manjula, Headmistress Smt Malathi spoke. FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed. FPO Trichy Shri K Devi Padmanabhan spoke on importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and urged public especially women to be aware of various welfare schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Sukanya Samriddhi schemes, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Prizes were given to women who answered correctly to questions on govt schemes. FPA Trichy Arun rendered vote of thanks.
