TNAU, Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute, Department of Physical Sciences and Information Technology conducted an event on National Statistics Day on 28th June 2024.
In this regard, Statistics Quiz Contest was conducted on 27.06.2024 and three teams were selected as winners out of 50 teams of 100 participants through three rounds.
Dr.M.Vijayabhama, Professor (Statistics) welcomes the delegates, Dr. A. Raviraj, Dean (Agrl. Engg.) in his presidential address highlighted the significance of Statistics in our daily life and research-related activities and publications.
The Chief guest, Mrs.Amuthavalli, the Deputy Director of Statistics, inspired the students to take their career in the field of Statistics. She also described the process involved in data collection and its importance to build the Nation-wide database (https://tn.data.gov.in/) enlightened the scope and importance of Statistics in various fields. Finally, the event ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. R Gangai Selvi, Associate Professor (Statistics).
