Government welfare schemes awareness programmes held at Alambady village

Central Bureau of Communication Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur units under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held awareness programmes on government welfare schemes at Siruvachur Government Higher Secondary School and Alambady village in Perambalur on Monday.


FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his presidential address stressed the importance of skill education especially for girls. He said that  Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme was launched by Prime Minister on January 22, 2015. Lakhpati Didi under Deendayal Antyodaya scheme 10.05 crore rural women mobilized under 90.86 lakh SHGs. Out of these more than one crore women are lakhpati didis with annual income of more than Rs one lakh. Govt of India has allocated Rs 15047 crore for National Rural Livelihoods mission Deendayal Antyodaya scheme for this fiscal. PM Matru Vandana Yojana launched in 2017 ensures Rs 5000 deposited in bank accounts of pregnant and lactating mothers for first child of the family. He also spoke about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched on October 2 Mahatma Gandhiji birthday in 2014 to remove open defecation by building individual household toilets. Under SBM more than 63.57 lakh individual household toilets and 6.36 lakh community toilets have been built in urban areas. Under Phase II of SBM 1.43 crore individual toilets have been constructed in rural areas in last four years. In Phase I of SBM till 2019- 2020, about  10.14 crore individual household toilets were constructed.


Social welfare department officials Smt Sheeba and Shri Bharat spoke on social welfare schemes and toll free numbers for registering complaints by children 1098, women 181 and senior citizens 14567. Smt Kalpana Srinivasan Alambady Panchayat president spoke on importance of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and other govt schemes. Postal dept official Satyavathy spoke on Sukanya Samridhi Scheme. 


FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed the gathering. He said that integrated communication Outreach Programme ICOP is being held on August 13 to 14 at Perambalur Rasi Mandapam by Central Bureauof Communication Chennai in coordination with ICDS, Social welfare dept, IOB RSETI, India Post DD TB.  FPA Tiruchirappalli Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. Perambalur Panchayat Union under Tamil Nadu govt, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Perambalur district coordinated to organize the awareness programme.  Cloth bags were distributed to create awareness on avoiding usage of plastics. Drug free Perambalur pledge was taken to create awareness on harmful effects of drug usage.  It stressed on youth to join Nasha Mukth Bharat campaign to make country drug free. In the awareness programme at school HM Shri K Subramanian, SBM Block coordinator Shri Annamalai, SBM IEC Shri Dinesh Kumar,  Smt Sankarnayagi from Postal department spoke.
