Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation, a Tamil Nadu government organization, is conducting the "Krishna Darshan Exhibition and Sale" at the Poompuhar Sales Center from August 19, 2024, to August 30, 2024.
Poompuhar, which has secured a unique place in the world of handicrafts, is known to everyone. Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation, a government enterprise, operates with the primary aim of preserving ancient arts while improving the quality of life of artisans.
The Poompuhar Sales Center in Erode has organized the Krishna Darshan Exhibition and Sale in honor of Krishna Jayanthi. The organization conducts various exhibitions throughout the year with the goal of creating market opportunities for artisans' products.
The ongoing exhibition showcases different forms of Krishna idols, including paper mache Krishna, clay Krishna, panchaloha (five-metal) Krishna, brass Krishna, marble powder Krishna, Aligarh brass Krishna, Tanjore painting Krishna, teakwood Krishna, sandalwood Krishna, black and white metal Krishna, and dollar-sized Tanjore paintings.
It's noteworthy that handicrafts priced between Rs. 150 and Rs. 20,000 are available for sale at the exhibition. A 10% discount is offered on select items. The target for this exhibition and sale has been set at four lakh rupees, according to Manager Arun.
