The Integrated Communication Outreach Programme ICOP on central govt welfare schemes is held at Coimbatore Police Community Hall from August 27 to 31.
Field Publicity Officer Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan said that the Integrated Communication Outreach Programme ICOP organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office Chennai under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was inaugurated by Shri P. Ganapathy Rajkumar, Member of Parliament. Coimbatore on August 27. The inaugural function was presided over by Press Information Bureau Chennai Additional Director General Shri M Annadurai. Smt Leela Meenakshi Director Central Bureau of Communication Chennai delivered keynote address. The ICOP is based on government welfare schemes with special emphasis on Skill India, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, World Space Day, Digital India.
There are more than 40 exhibition panels on various government schemes including PM Jan Aushadhi, Rural Housing scheme, Urban Housing Scheme, Assistance for differently abled, Start Up India, Skill India, Ayushman Bharat, Vande Bharat trains, New criminal laws, Empowering differently abled persons, PM Mudra Yojana, Progress of women, entrepreneurs and other training. Postal department has put up a stall on Sukanya Samridhi scheme, and other postal savings schemes. There was a health camp organized by Sankara Eye Hospital.
Village awareness programmes as part of the ICOP were held at villages like Sulur, Kamatchipuram, S Mettupalayam, Seerapalayam, Vazhukkuparai and Othakalmandapam Govt Higher Secondary School. Officials from various department went to the villages and addresse d the villagers on various topics in coordination with Panchayat presidents, Swachh Bharat Mission coordinators and BDOs. We distributed pamphlets on government welfare schemes to all visitors. Cloth bags were distributed as part of creating awareness on plastic free world and environment safeguard. Saplings were distributed to popularize concept of afforestation Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Plant one tree in the name of Mother Earth.
On the fourth day Friday, FPO Trichy Shri K Devi Padmanabhan delivered keynote address. RSETI Director Shri D Vasudevan spoke on skill development training, Advocate Shri Mathivanan District Legal Services Authority Coimbatore spoke on new Criminal laws, Smt Geetha TB prevention supervisor spoke about TB prevention. College students from various colleges in Coimbatore including Dr NGP College of Arts and Science, Karpagam Engineering College, Rathinam Engineering College participated in the session. Prizes were given to students who won in many competitions.
The ICOP was coordinated by Technical Asst CBC Coimbatore Shri S R Chandrasekharan, Technical Asst CBC Chennai Shri M Murali, FPA Dharmapuri Shri M Thyagarajan FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar.
