A seminar on higher education was recently conducted at Annai Fathima College of Arts and Science, Alampatti, near Tirumangalam, Madurai District. The seminar, organized by the Hotel Management Department, was primarily attended by headmasters and headmistresses of various high schools and higher secondary schools.
Dr. Abdul Kadir, principal of the college, inaugurated the seminar. In his address, he emphasized the importance of guiding students towards suitable higher education options. He stressed the need for school heads to provide students with comprehensive information about various courses, entrance exams, and career paths, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.
Department heads, including Paulraj (Hotel Management), Natesan Pandiyan (Management), Dr. Karthika (Aviation), Dr. Niveditha (Forensic Science), Rajkumar (English), Ramaraj (Tourism Management), Sasikala (Fire and Safety), and Karthika (Computer Science), delivered detailed presentations on their respective departments, outlining the courses offered and the job opportunities available.
Earlier, Professor Vigneshwara Seemati welcomed all the gathering. Headmasters and Headmistresses from government higher secondary and secondary schools in Achampatti, Melaurappanur, Tirumangalam, Idathukulam, Kappalur, and Tirunagar including Uma Sundari, Chinna Pandi, Rajeshwari, Ganesan, Prabhakar, Anand, and Baskaran, along with the Headmistresses of P.K.N. Metric Higher Secondary School and the Girls' Higher Secondary School in Tirumangalam, namely Sumathi and Rajeshwari respectively, participated in the seminar.
The arrangements for the seminar were done by professors Senthil, Gangadharan, and Arunkumar, with the assistance of students Selcia, Sriya, Manoj, Praveen, Prakash Pandi, Muhammad Sahith, Bhuvanesh, Anasir, Akash, Surya, Gurusekar, and Adikesavan. The Hotel Management Department’s chief chefs, Kamal Anand and Shenbagaraj, prepared the President Banquet special lunch for the participants. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by student Selcia.
