The Mahatma Yoga Center, based in Tallakulam, Madurai, has continued its 15-year tradition of distributing Diwali gifts and welfare packages to differently-abled individuals. This year, over 300 beneficiaries received festive packages containing 30 essential items, including food and clothing.
Dr. Abdul Kadir, former principal of the Wakf Board College, inaugurated the distribution after delivering an address. In his address, he emphasized that Diwali is not merely a festival of lights but also a celebration of human values like compassion, love, and sharing. He further stated that the gifts would bring a ray of hope and a sense of belonging to the differently-abled individuals.
Following his address, the festive packages were distributed to the beneficiaries, who were then served breakfast.
The event was organized by yoga instructors Sivakumar and Ramesh Kumar, along with other center members such as Balaji, Muthu, Palanimurugan, Selvam, and Loganathan. Palaniyandy, a beneficiary, expressed his gratitude on behalf of all the recipients.
