Meesho Sees 80% Increase in Orders across Tamil Nadu

Meesho, India’s only true e-commerce marketplace, witnessed a spectacular festive sale during its flagship ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale 2024’ held from September 27 to October 6, 2024. The company witnessed an impressive increase in demand this year, with total orders rising over 40% compared to last year. Further, during the sale period, the platform saw a notable spike in engagement, achieving over 3 crore app downloads.


An increasing number of users flocked to Meesho during the sale to avail the best deals on their festive shopping. In Tamil Nadu alone, app downloads surged by more than 80% since last year, showcasing Meesho’s widespread appeal in the region. Top products preferred by shoppers in Tamil Nadu were bluetooth headphones & earphones, smart watches, handbags, extension boards, wallpaper, puja items and cotton bedsheets. Additionally, this year, there was a 82% increase in sellers onboarded from the state, reflecting the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of Gujarat and the expanding opportunities in the e-commerce landscape.

This festive season, customers wholeheartedly embraced self-care and home improvement, leading to  impressive growth across Meesho’s categories. Home & Kitchen saw a remarkable 105% increase YoY, Beauty and Personal Care rose by 60% while Kids & Baby Essentials grew by 75%. Shoppers filled their carts with popular items like kurtis, mobile cases, and artificial plants, showcasing their commitment to enhancing both their living spaces and personal well-being.


Catering to the growing demand for branded products, Meesho Mall witnessed 2X growth in orders, highlighting its growing popularity among users in tier 2+ regions. Brands like Mars have achieved phenomenal growth of over 4X, while Denver saw impressive growth exceeding 2X. Mamaearth also grew by more than 2X, Bella Vita doubled its orders, and Swiss Beauty experienced a growth of 1.8X.
