The campaign is aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness in line with Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean India.
The event began with a ‘Cleanliness Walk’ led by the students of IHM Chennai, covering the neighborhood of Kanagam village. During the walk, the students carried placards bearing messages highlighting the importance of cleanliness and environmental stewardship.
Upon the culmination of the walk, a Swachhata Pledge was administered to all 60 participants, reaffirming their commitment to a cleaner, greener India. Following the pledge, the students, along with faculty members, engaged in a cleaning drive in and around the campus of IHM Chennai, ensuring that the surroundings were spic and span.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri D. Venkatesan, Regional Director South, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Ms. Parimala Ranjit, Principal of IHM Chennai, who actively participated in the activities, alongside the enthusiastic students and faculty members of the Institute.
This Special Campaign 4.0, aligned with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, underscores the Ministry’s commitment to environmental cleanliness and sustainability.
