To make Tenkasi district a drug-free district, a grand anti-drug rally and public meeting will take place in Sankarankoil on Sunday, the 6th, October. The Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr. R.N. Ravi, will be attending the event as the special guest.To bring about change in the Tenkasi district, the founder of Voice of Tenkasi Foundation Mr. Anathan Ayyasamy, addressed the media about the historic "Drug-Free Tenkasi" rally and public meeting. During the interview, he said:
Our Voice of Tenkasi Foundation has been engaged in various social activities for the welfare of the youth in the Tenkasi district. With the aim of creating a drug-free young society, we are organizing a grand rally and public meeting under the banner of "Drug-Free Tenkasi" this coming Sunday, the 6th, in Sankarankoil. This event, which coincides with the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr. R.N. Ravi, will walk alongside the people in the rally and deliver a keynote address at the public meeting.Along with the Governor, Zoho Corporation’s CEO and the "Guardian of Villages," Mr. Sridhar Vembu, and Mr. Saidai Durai Duraisamy, founder of Manithaneya IAS Academy, will also be participating in the rally. The goal of the Voice of Tenkasi Foundation is to transform Tenkasi into the "Estonia of Asia" (a developed Tenkasi) by 2032 and to empower the youth and students to create a prosperous society. Today, the growing impact of drug abuse has become a major challenge. This rally is a call to unite our community, identify and eradicate the threat of drug addiction. I urge everyone to commit to building a drug-free society. Thousands of students, public and social activists have already registered to participate in this historic rally. I warmly invite everyone who shares the vision of creating a drug-free Tenkasi district to come together through this rally, he said.
He further stated that the rally will begin at 10 AM on Sunday, October 6th, at the old bus stand in Sankarankoil. From there, the rally will proceed to the public meeting venue at UVV Grounds on Thiruvenkadam Road (near Sikaram Groundnut Oil Mill). The public meeting will be held at around 12 PM. He urged all participants to ensure that the rally does not cause any disruption to the daily lives of the public or interfere with traffic, and requested everyone to cooperate fully with the police to make the rally a success.
The arrangements for the anti-drug rally are being made by the administrators and volunteers of the Voice of Tenkasi Foundation, along with the administrators and members of the Rotary Club of Rajapalayam Kings City.
