The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai, a premier institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, celebrated its 61st Institution Day on 15 December 2024, marking its Diamond Jubilee. Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
In his inspiring address, AICTE Chairman emphasized the profound connection between India's ancient wisdom and modern technological advancements. He underscored the potential of emerging technologies like AR/VR, Generative AI, and blockchain to revolutionize digital education and research.
Prof. Sitharam also lauded India's strides in defense technology, spearheaded by ISRO and DRDO. He called upon engineers to harness their innovative spirit to shape the future and drive societal progress.
The Chairman of AICTE, also released NITTTR Chennai Diamond Jubilee Coffee Table Book, Diamond Jubilee Souvenir. He also inaugurated NITTTR Kalanjiyam – Digital Education Connect portal and Mental Wellness Programme for the students of higher education institutions.
In her presidential address Prof. Usha Natesan, Director of NITTTR Chennai, highlighted the institute's significant contributions to technical education over the past three decades. She emphasized NITTTR Chennai's pivotal role in teacher training, capacity building, and its commitment to global engagement.
The institute's involvement in national missions like SWAYAM and ATAL, as well as its active participation in AICTE's Marga Darshan project, further underscores its dedication to uplifting the education sector.
The event concluded with cultural performances showcasing Tamil Nadu's rich heritage.
