Lady Doak College organized International Conference on Language and Culture

The PG & Research Department of History, Lady Doak College in collaboration with the Environmental Advisory For Sustainable Trust (EAST), Tirunelveli organized the 2nd International Conference on Language and Culture from 28/11/2024 to 29/11/2024. 


The inaugural session of the conference was held on 28/11/2024 at 3 pm in Dr. Betty Chinnaiah Multimedia Theatre. The conference began with a word of prayer by Dr. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, Chaplain & Associate Professor of English, Lady Doak College. Dr. S. Mercy Packiam, Controller of Examinations, Head & Associate Professor of History, Lady Doak College welcomed the gathering and the session was presided over by Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary, Lady Doak College. 


A significant highlight of the inaugural session was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Lady Doak College and the Environmental Advisory for Sustainable Trust (EAST), Tirunelveli, to strengthen academic collaboration and promote sustainable practices. 


The event also featured the release of the conference souvenir, marking the scholarly significance of the gathering. Prof. Dr. S. Gunapalan from the Department of Management, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and Dr. S. Anuzsiya, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Sciences, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka  felicitated the event. The students of the department of History performed cultural programmes. 


The second day of the conference began with lectures delivered by Dr. Daleleer Kaur Randawar (Faculty of Law, Malaysia), Dr. Saji Baby (Professor and Director, World Peace University, Maharashtra) and Dr. Bhagirath Prakash Baria (Assistant Professor, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat). Faculty, research scholars and students of various institutions presented their research papers in two sessions. Mr. Selvarathnam Jeyapalan (Director, Advanced Technological Institute, Sri Lanka) delivered the valedictory address.
