Department of Management Studies, National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli organized a 5-day Advanced Management Development Programme on The Power of SHE: Women’s Journey to Business Leadership, sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, Government of India. The programme was coordinated by the faculty team: Dr. P. Sridevi, Dr. B. Senthil Arasu, Dr. Nivethitha S and Dr. V. Lavanya. The programme held from 02 to 06 December 2024, aimed to provide insights on capitalizing the opportunities and sail through the challenges in business operations.
The programme was conducted with 33 participants from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana. The participants are women entrepreneurs from 21 to 50 years of age group striving to scale-up their business. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Department of Training and Placement, NIT Tiruchirappalli where Prof. Dr. Senthil Arasu welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Dr. S. Sudha, Coordinator, MSME program at NIT Tiruchirappalli, accentuated the significance of the five-day program. Dr. G. Aghila, Director, NIT Tiruchirappalli, inaugurated the event and highlighted the importance of role of women in today’s business landscape. Also, stressed the importance of leading the business using technology. The workshop also featured Ms. Kuppulakshmi Krishnamoorthy, Global Head, ZOHO for start-ups. Ms. Kuppulakshmi shared insights on personal branding for women entrepreneurs and importance of continuously developing their ability to seize the opportunities. Dr. V. Sankaranarayanan, Dean-Research & Consultancy, NIT Tiruchirappalli emphasized the pressing need for skill enhancement amongst women to compete in the business arena. Dr. P. Sridevi conveyed her gratitude to all the dignitaries and participants for being part of the workshop.
The workshop sessions covered wide-array of topics such as – managing business in digital era, women in technology, managing accounts for successful business, journey of successful women entrepreneurs, strategic leadership, managing work-life balance, negotiation skills, emotional intelligence and breaking the bias. The sessions were delivered by the domain experts from industry and academic professionals. The participants appreciated the selection of topics and the holistic content curation for the programme which enables them to acquire the business acumen.
