Solar-Powered Induction Stove: London University funded project by Kalasalingam University ECE students

Kalasalingam University, Srivilliputhur, final-year ECE students, M. Muhammad Anwar, S. Akash Sam Jayaseelan, M. Eswaran, K. E. Gokul, and R. Durai Raja With  the guidance of Dr. Raja Krishnamoorthy, Director, International Industrial Relations, developed a voice-controlled solar-powered induction stove and  demonstrated in the presence of the university Vice President, Dr. S. Shasi Anand.


In this innovative appliance, students constructed with two solar panels of 540W each, generating a total power of 1080W. It charges two 12V, 200Ah batteries, capable of storing 4.8kWh of power. As a result, the stove can function even on night and raining time .


The stove can be operated by voice commands or through a mobile app. The students have designed it with a unique mechanism to regulate excessive heat generated during extended use. It is eco-friendly, easy to operate, and efficient. The total cost of the project was ₹1,20,000 approx.


The project received funding from the University of London through the efforts of the university Industrial Relations Office. 


This solar-powered stove is seen as a highly beneficial in hill areas, tourist and solders, students said.
