The three-day awareness exhibition and beneficiary registration camp on “Central Government Welfare Schemes”, organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Tamilnadu & Puducherry Regional Office, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, concluded today in Sivakasi.
The exhibition featured 50 display panels (standees) highlighting various welfare schemes implemented by the Central Government. Stalls were also set up by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), District Social Welfare Office, Department of Posts, Lead District Bank, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), and Common Service Centre (CSC).
The stalls provided a range of public services, including Aadhaar corrections through the Department of Posts, through the Common Service Centre, various registrations for matchbox and fireworks workers, and clarification of queries related to Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).
Various publicity measures were undertaken to create awareness among the public and encourage their participation in the event. Letters were also sent to several colleges to facilitate visits by college students.
The programme was conducted in two sessions every day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, with seminars organised during each session. Officials from various government departments participated in the seminars and explained different Central Government welfare schemes in detail to the participants. Following the sessions, questions based on the topics discussed by the speakers were put to the students, and prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners.
The camp, which commenced on 19.08.2026, concluded this afternoon, 21.08.2026.
As a special programme on the concluding day, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) organised a seminar for administrative officials from various establishments on Vishwas 2026, Employees Enrolment Campaign 2026, and new initiatives of EPFO.
At the valedictory function that followed, Deputy Director of Agriculture Latha, Assistant Director of Agriculture Muthaiya, and District Tourism Officer Anbarasu participated as special guests.
During the valedictory programme, prizes were distributed to the students who won the competitions conducted as part of the event. Mementoes were also presented to the departments that had set up stalls at the exhibition in recognition of their participation.
More than 1,500 people, including college students and members of the public, participated in the three-day programme.
As part of the camp, 66 persons registered for self-employment training. Aadhaar correction services were provided to 150 persons, while 200 persons received guidance and clarification regarding Aadhaar-related services. Through the Common Service Centre, more than 950 persons registered for Ayushman Bharat and various labour welfare schemes. Grievances and queries relating to the Employees’ Provident Fund were addressed for 200 persons.
