MEPZ SEZ celebrated Thiruvalluvar Day with reverence and pride by paying tribute to the great Tamil poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. The celebration began with Thiru. Alex Paul Menon, IAS, Development Commissioner, MEPZ SEZ, leading the commemoration by garlanding the statue of Thiruvalluvar at the campus.
In his address, Thiru. Alex Paul Menon emphasized the enduring relevance of Thiruvalluvar's teachings, stating, “Thiruvalluvar's visionary ideologies have stood the test of time, continuing to guide us through changing eras. What is even more remarkable is how his wisdom continues to resonate with the values embraced by leaders today.
He further highlighted that the timeless values articulated by Thiruvalluvar in the Thirukkural—ranging from Aram—the path of righteousness and moral living—as a way of life, governance, ethics, and justice to leadership and human dignity—continue to inspire individuals and communities today. The Development Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of MEPZ SEZ to honour and uphold these values.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a large number of employees from MEPZ SEZ units, who gathered to pay their respects and celebrate the poet’s enduring legacy. The ceremony concluded with a moment of reflection on the poet’s invaluable contributions to Tamil literature and culture, reinforcing the pride shared by the MEPZ SEZ community in preserving and celebrating Tamil heritage.
