In a significant step to bridge academia with industry, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (VMRF), a deemed university, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Paints and Coatings Skill Council (PCSC) on February 21st at 10 AM.
The signing ceremony took place at the Chennai campus of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation.The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Honourable Chancellor of VMRF, Dr. A.S. Ganesan, and the CEO of PCSC, Shri Jagdish Acharya, both of whom presided over the event. Dr. A.S. Ganesan highlighted the essential role of industry partnerships in enhancing employability and providing students with valuable practical experience to complement their academic learning.The ceremony was attended by several distinguished officials from both the paints and coatings industry and academia.
Among them were Mr. S. Mahesh Anand, President of Nippon Paints India Pvt Ltd and Governing Board Member of PCSC; Mr. N.K. Bhatia, Former President of the Indian Paint Association and Governing Board Member of PCSC; Ms. Rajeshwari, Head of HR at Nippon Paints India Pvt Ltd; Ms. Neelam Kumari, Senior Manager at ProCeed Training Academy, Nippon Paints; and Mr. Gowri Shankar Mahalingam, Advisor, Paints and Coatings Skill Council, Chennai.
The event also saw the active participation of Deputy Registrar Administration Prof. Rajasekaran, Principal and Vice Principals of AVIT and VMKVEC, along with the Director of the School of Arts and Science.
The event concluded with a speech by Dr. S.P. Sangeetha, Vice Principal of AVIT, who emphasized the long-term impact of the MoU in shaping future-ready professionals ready to excel in the dynamic world of paints and coatings.
