Grand Celebrations of success of Operation Sindoor through Tiranga Victory March by Pondicherry University

Pondicherry University organised a grand rally on 17th May 2025 to honour and celebrate the monumental victory of Operation Sindoor, a successful strategic mission led by the Indian Armed Forces. The event showcased immense patriotic fervour and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and dignitaries.


At the outset the Vice-Chancellor extended a warm welcome to the esteemed Chief Guest and dignitaries gracing the occasion. The rally was flagged off by the Shri K. Kailashnathan, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor & Chief Rector of Pondicherry University, Shri A. Namassivayam, Hon’ble Minister for Home & Education, Government of Puducherry, Shri P.M.L. Kalyanasundaram, Member, Legislative Assembly – Kalapet, Puducherry, Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University in front of the iconic Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Administrative Building.


The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri K. Kailashnathan appreciated the efforts of Pondicherry University in organising such a patriotic event to express this solidarity of the University community with the nation and to honour the success of Operation Sindoor by our Indian Armed Forces.


The rally witnessed the participation of over 2000 students, including a large contingent of NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers of Pondicherry University, its constituent college Pondicherry University Community College and affiliated institutions. Students carried national flags and patriotic banners and made patriotic slogans expressing their solidarity and gratitude towards the brave soldiers of India who made Operation Sindoor a resounding success.


In his inaugural address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized the significance of Operation Sindoor in reinforcing India's defence capabilities and highlighted the unparalleled commitment of the Armed Forces towards national security, annihilating cross-border terrorism. The dignitaries also addressed the gathering, lauding the youth for their spirit of nationalism and active civic engagement.


The rally traversed key areas of the University campus, culminating in a cultural tribute featuring patriotic songs by students. The event created a unifying platform to commemorate the valour and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, igniting a renewed sense of patriotism among the participants.


Pondicherry University remains committed to nurturing responsible citizens and fostering national pride through such dynamic and inclusive events.


Prof. Clement Sagayaraj Lourdes, Director (CCR), Prof. Rajneesh Bhutani, Registrar, Prof. D. Lazar, Finance Officer, Prof. Sadananda Swami, Controller of Examination, Prof. M. Vijayakumar, Librarian, Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, Faculty Members, the Officers and staff actively participated.
