Continuing its mission to foster road safety awareness, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) organized a large-scale road safety programme in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. Over 2,400 students and staff from St. Joseph International School and Victory Public School participated. The initiative aimed to build road safety habits from an early age through interactive and practical sessions. Students learned the basics of safe riding, helmet use, and traffic discipline. Virtual riding simulators exposed learners to 100+ real-road scenarios for better hazard perception.

HMSI trainers conducted Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) to sharpen danger prediction skills. Existing riders practiced slow riding and balance exercises to hone safe riding techniques. The program is part of HMSI’s broader road safety CSR commitment across Tamil Nadu. HMSI has engaged over 10 million Indians through road safety education nationwide.

The company operates 10 Traffic Training Parks and 6 Safety Driving Education Centers in India. This outreach supports Honda’s global 2050 vision of zero traffic fatalities.

In India, HMSI aligns with the goal to halve road deaths by 2030. The initiative aims to make schoolchildren future safety ambassadors. Sessions were crafted to be scientific, fun, and engaging for young minds.

Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj, Operating Officer - Brand & Communication, HMSI, said: "By engaging youth early, we aim to instill lifelong road safety values for a safer India."
