Lady Doak College Marks 77th Birthday with Triune Celebration

Lady Doak College witnessed a momentous Triune Celebration commemorating the institution’s 77th College Birthday, Founder’s Day, and the Installation of the Student Cabinet for this academic year. The solemn and vibrant event took place at the GJ Auditorium , bringing together students, faculty and distinguished guest.


The programme commenced with a prayer led by Dr. C. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, the College Chaplain, followed by the welcome address by Dr. S. Arockia Shyamala Panlyarasi, the Dean of Student Affairs. 


The traditional lighting of the lamp was performed by the Chief Guest, along with the Principal, Vice Principal, Bursar, Deans of Student Affairs, and the President of the Student Cabinet, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and leadership


Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal and Secretary, delivered the introductory remarks, setting the tone for the celebration with reflections on the College’s legacy of excellence, empowerment, and service, with a video presentation chronicling the history of Lady Doak College. 


The distinguished Chief Guest, Honorable Ms. Justice L. Victoria Gowri , Judge of the Madras High Court, Madurai Bench was formally introduced by Dr. R. Nimma Elizabeth, the Vice Principal.


Honourable Justice Gowri, in her Inaugural Address, inspired the gathering with her powerful words on the importance of integrity, justice, and responsible leadership, in congruence with the History of Lady Doak College. She lauded the college’s continued commitment to shaping young women into agents of change in society.


The Centre for Music offered a special song that uplifted the spirit of the occasion. This was followed by the Installation of the Office Bearers of the Student Cabinet, signifying a new chapter of student leadership and collaboration. Ms. R. Farhana, the newly elected President of the Student Cabinet, expressed her gratitude and commitment to serve in the Vote of Thanks


The ceremony concluded with the College Song and National Anthem followed by the symbolic lighting of the candles and the recession, as the administrative team exited with the newly installed office-bearers.


The Triune Celebration stood as a testimony to Lady Doak College’s enduring vision and values—celebrating its illustrious past, honouring its founders, and ushering in a new era of student-led governance.
