Central Bureau of Communication,Thanjavur under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organised an awareness programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Mela Thirupanthuruthi, Thanjavur district in coordination with integrated Child Development Scheme, Thiruvaiyaru block of Thanjavur district.
The programme was presided over by the School Headmaster Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. While addressing the students Shri Ravindran, Field Publicity Assistant, Central Bureau of Communication, Thanjavur explained various schemes on Women and Child Development including One Stop Centre, 181 and 1098 services.
Thiruvaiyaru Block Child Development Programme Officer Smt.Jenita Lucia Mary spoke on nutritious schemes implementing by the ICDS for children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers. Addressing the students Smt. Ananthi, Block Coordinator, Poshan Abhiyan, Thiruvaiyaru said that nutrition provided in the first thousand days is the foundation for a child's lifelong health and cognitive. An elocution contest was conducted for the students and the winners were honoured with prizes and certificates.
