Dr. Pramod Sawant Announces Goa Street Race 2025

The Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, announced the Goa Street Race 2025, a landmark 3.214 km oceanfront circuit at Headland Sada, Bogda. This will be Round 4 of the Indian Racing Festival (IRF), scheduled for 1–2 November 2025. The announcement was made at Auditorium 1, Maquinez Palace, ESG, Panjim, signifying Goa’s entry into elite global motorsport. 


Present at the event were Asvin Chandru, IAS, CM Secretary & CEO, ESG; Shri Sankalp Amonkar, MLA – Mormugao; Shri Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Secretary – Information & Publicity; and Mr. Akhilesh Reddy, CMD of Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. (RPPL). This will be South Asia’s first oceanfront street circuit, hosting both Indian Racing League (IRL) and FIA Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC). The race will test drivers with tight urban turns, sweeping seafront straights, and salt-air exposure. Teams backed by celebrities include John Abraham (Goa Aces), Arjun Kapoor (Speed Demons Delhi), Sourav Ganguly (Kolkata Royal Tigers), Sudeep Kichcha (Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru), Naga Chaitanya (Hyderabad Blackbirds), and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand (Chennai Turbo Riders). 


Top drivers include Raoul Hyman, Neel Jani, Fabienne Wohlwend, Laura Camps Torras, and Ruhaan Alva. Dr. Sawant emphasized Goa’s potential as a hub for international events, highlighting benefits in tourism, employment, and global recognition. Mr. Akhilesh Reddy called the event a bold step in redefining India’s motorsport future. 


The IRF promotes gender inclusivity, with several female racers on the grid. The initiative will drive economic growth, boost hospitality, and stimulate local industries. Backed by Goa Tourism Department, the race aligns with Goa’s vision for high-value tourism. With national and global broadcast reach, Goa is set to become India’s motorsport crown jewel.
