Central Bureau of Communication, Thanjavur under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India organised an awareness programme at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Budalur in coordination with Integrated Child Development Scheme, Budalur.
Delivering Presidential address, Budalur Govt. Girls Higher Secondary Headmistress Smt. Rajeswari advised the students to internalize the ideas presented by the experts and live healthily. Shri Ravindran, Field Publicity Assistant, Thanjavur, urged the student community to take the lead in eradicating corruption, a major obstacle to the progress of our Nation. Smt. Jenita Lucia Mary, Child Development Project Officer, Budalur, explained various initiatives under the Integrated Child Development Schemes and healthy eating habits for adolescent girls. Shri Arunkumar, Field Publicity Assistant, Tiruchirappalli, said such programmes are conducted to make everyone aware of government welfare schemes and urged students to share the information with others.
As part of the programme, an Elocution contest was conducted and the winners were honoured with prizes and certificates. A Nutritious Exhibition was arranged by the ICDS, Budalur Block. ICDS Supervisors Smt. Solai, Smt. Gauri, Smt. Shanthi and Anganwadi workers were also participated in the programme. Administration of Integrity Pledge and Distribution of pamphlets on Government Scheme were other feature of the programme.
