Guidance Tamil Nadu has joined hands with Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA),  as a partner for Source India 2026,one of the most significant forums connecting stakeholders across the electronics supply chain.

At the curtain raiser for the 15th edition of Source India scheduled for February 10th and 11th ,2026 at Chennai Trade Centre, Dr P Alarmelmangai, IAS Executive Director, Guidance, shared Tamil Nadu’s proactive measures to deepen the state’s electronic component ecosystem, including the impactful ECMS Scheme under which several investments were proposed in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu today is home to 5 of the 7 ECMS projects approved nationwide in the first phase. The State’s continued push on innovation, design and manufacturing is shaping the next chapter of India’s electronics story.

The Source India initiative was first conceived in 2009 through visionary discussions with Nokia to address the growing challenge of supply chain dependencies. Over the past 15 years, it has evolved into a strategic national initiative connecting buyers and suppliers, fostering domestic value addition, and encouraging R&D and innovation. India’s electronics manufacturing industry has expanded more than five times in a decade, from US$29 billion to over US$137 billion, with platforms like Source India serving as critical enablers catalysing value addition and growth.

Tamil Nadu's electronics exports in 2025 have reached a record $14.65 billion, marking a 53% year-on-year increase. This figure represents 41.3% of India's total electronics exports for the year,  up from 32.8% in FY24. The state's electronics sector is driven by a combination of large-scale smartphone assembly, component manufacturing, and contributions from various sectors such as automotive, telecom, and medical electronics. The PLI scheme has played a significant role in boosting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.

ELCINA extended its gratitude to Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa for his continued support for the industry and his leadership in formulating progressive policies that provide best-in-class infrastructure, incentives, and skill development opportunities to make Tamil Nadu a global electronics and knowledge economy.

The upcoming 15th Source India event, will present a comprehensive, three-pronged platform featuring:
