With online shopping becoming second nature for millions of customers across India, Flipkart has urged users to stay vigilant against rising cyber fraud. Fraudsters continue to refine their tactics, using fake websites, scam calls and malicious apps to mislead unsuspecting shoppers. These threats are not limited to festive seasons or major events — they can occur anytime, making awareness and caution essential.
Scammers often lure users with unbelievable discounts, suspicious links across SMS, email and pop-ups, and phone calls asking for sensitive data like OTP, PIN or CVV. Flipkart advises customers to rely only on verified platforms, create strong passwords, avoid sharing personal information, and watch for warning signs such as misspelled URLs, inactive menus and missing security indicators. Users are also encouraged to monitor their device health and delete suspicious apps, clear cache, and run antivirus scans when necessary.
“Cyber scams thrive on urgency, confusion and trust. The more informed and alert users are, the harder it becomes for fraudsters to exploit them. While Flipkart continues to strengthen its digital safety systems, customers too must play their part by verifying sources and reporting suspicious activity,” said a Flipkart spokesperson.
