Members of the TANRECTA (Tamil Nadu Retired College Teachers’ Association) distributed breakfast and biscuit packs to over 80 senior citizens at the Madurai Corporation–Thanumalayan Trust run Old Age Home in Shenoy Nagar here on Monday.
The initiative is part of the Association’s monthly outreach activities towards senior citizens. The food was served by Association President Prof. G. Ramamoorthy, Secretary Prof. N. Periyathambi, and Prof. M. Abdul Kadir, Former Principal of MSS Wakf Board College.
Retired professor Prof. Krishnan of Madurai Vellaichamy Nadar College, who is celebrating his 80th birthday this month, took part in the event and marked the occasion by serving food to the residents.
The inmates extended their blessings and birthday wishes to Prof. Krishnan, singing devotional songs and expressing their gratitude.
Old Age Home administrator Murugappan thanked the Association for its consistent support and service.
