In a powerful confluence of devotion, classical art, and spiritual tradition, over 250 Bharatanatyam dancers came together at the iconic Adiyogi at Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, to present “Isha Shivamayam – Shivaprasada Panchakam” on the sacred occasion of Arudra Darshan. The grand performance marked one of the most significant spiritual observances of the Tamil month of Margazhi and was organised by Daivadasakam Kootam.
Arudra Darshan, also known as Thiruvathirai, is a deeply revered festival in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, celebrated in Shiva temples to commemorate the cosmic Ananda Tandava of Lord Nataraja.
Marking this auspicious day, Bharatanatyam dancers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu offered a collective invocation through Shivaprasada Panchakam, a devotional composition by Sree Narayana Guru, transforming the Adiyogi space into a vibrant expression of grace, rhythm, and inner stillness.
Shivaprasada Panchakam is a spiritual composition comprising five verses that glorify the boundless grace of Lord Shiva. Conceived with the elevated vision that “God is one,” the verses transcend divisions of caste and religion. Written in simple yet profound language, the hymns continue to be revered by the disciples of Sree Narayana Guru across Kerala and Tamil Nadu as a powerful devotional offering to invoke Shiva’s grace.
Thousands of local villagers, devotees, and volunteers of the Isha Yoga Center witnessed the performance. The synchronised presentation by over 250 dancers created a deeply moving atmosphere, leaving the audience spellbound and reinforcing the timeless connection between classical art, devotion, and spiritual expression.
