Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), has achieved a historic milestone with its Eicher Pro X EV becoming the first and fastest electric commercial vehicle to successfully complete the demanding Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari (K2K) route under full load conditions. The achievement has been officially recognized by the India Book of Records (IBR).
Covering over 4,000 kilometres in just six days, the record-setting journey commenced from Srinagar on January 20, 2026, and concluded in Kanyakumari on January 26, 2026. Traversing India’s diverse terrains—including the Himalayas, plains, Deccan Plateau and ghats—the Pro X EV demonstrated consistent performance across extreme climates and elevations. The expedition was executed in association with Behind the Wheels, with an IBR adjudicator accompanying the vehicle throughout to verify compliance.
The Eicher Pro X EV relied entirely on India’s public charging infrastructure, accessed through the MyEicher App, underscoring the readiness of the country’s growing EV ecosystem for long-haul commercial operations.
Commenting on the achievement, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd., said the record reinforces Eicher’s legacy of application-specific engineering, reliability, and customer-centric innovation.
